Elder Care Services
American Retirement Corporation - will provide a special service and benefits package designed to support older family members and relatives of UTHHSC employees. The package of services and benefits are provided through American Retirement Corporation's communities Hampton Senior Living Network (click on "Our Communities" and find Houston, Texas) for more information of the six Hampton assisted living communities and the Hampton at Post Oak retirement community located in Houston, Texas.
The free and discounted services and benefits in the Hampton Freedom Advantage Club for UT employees and their older family members
include the following
- Up to seven days of free respite/recovery care to UT employees and their older relatives who are age qualified subject to space availability.
- Priority access to Hampton Senior Living Network communities for permanent moves.
- Should a qualified employee or relative move to any of the assisted living communities, the second and thirteenth month's rent will be at no cost.
- During the first year of permanent residency, four free guest meals per month will be provided.
- $500 moving allowance to include a companion to help facilitate the move.
- Free health care needs assessment.
- Joint education programs co-produced by UT and Hampton Senior Living Network.
- Other services, activities and events that may be offered at our various communities and through Freedom Advantage Club from time to time.

Garden Terrace of Houston - Specializing in Alzheimer's and Neurological Disorders - Offers 10% discount from the published daily rates in effect for elderly parents and dependents.
Home Instead Senior Care - Provides non-medical companionship and home helper services for the elderly. Offers a 50% discount off the first four hours of service (four hour minimum) to dependents of UT employees and students.

Seniors Place - A non-profit, licensed adult day center provides a safe, spiritual, and nurturing program for older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer's or similar dementia. Silverado Senior Living - provides short term as well as long term care for people with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's disease at four communities in the Houston area: Cypresswood, Sugar Land, Woodlands and Kingwood. They offer 24 hour skilled nursing on site with an emphasis on socialization and age appropriate activities for residents at all stages of the disease. Silverado is offering the following discounts to all of our institutional members:
- The Gift of Time: complimentary respite care for two overnight stays or 4 days of flex time care. One occasion per person, please.
- Staff assistance and free transportation with moving personal furnitiure for all long-term care move-ins.
- Open invitation for family members to dine with their loved ones anytime at no extra cost.
- "Dealing with Dementia" caregiver support group free and open to the public fourth Saturday of each month from 1:00-2:00pm. Respite available during the meeting with 2 days advance notice.
