Dr. Ronald Johnson was appointed
chief academic diversity officer in late 2005. He had served as vice president for strategic affairs from 2003 and dean of
The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston from 1996.
In his current role, Dr. Johnson heads the Office of Cultural and Institutional Diversity.
Johnson earned his dental degree in 1961 from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship and received his specialty certification in pedodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Dentistry.
In 1999, Johnson was chosen as the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year for Harvard's dental school.
