Kevin Dillon, chief operating and financial officer, is responsible for financial accountability and business processes throughout The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dillon, who also serves as the university's chief financial officer, joined the UT Health Science Center staff in 1996, serving in a variety of financial roles.
He was promoted to executive vice president for administration & business affairs in April 2007, expanding his accountabilities into strategic planning, business development, organizational policy matters, and key administrative and business processes (including facilities, information technology, auxiliary enterprises and human resources).
He continues to lead the university's financial and accounting functions, including service areas of accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, pre- and post-award research administration and finance, payroll, treasury, procurement, , practice plan finance, Harris County Psychiatric Center finances, and facilities finance. The associate deans for management at the university’s six schools have a dual reporting relationship to Dillon and their deans.
A Certified Public Accountant, Dillon served at the health science center for more than seven years as assistant vice president for auditing and chief financial officer.
More than 20 years of professional work experience includes positions with Ernst & Young, CRSS and Pennzoil-Quaker State. He earned his M.B.A. and bachelor’s degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. He also has attained the Certified Management Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor professional designations. In 2008, Dillon was honored by Houston Business Journal as the “Best Large Nonprofit CFO of the Year.”
