“We have a bright and vibrant clinic and efficient family medicine offices,” said Carlos Moreno, M.D., chairman of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. “Our patients, staff and physicians love it. It is a very friendly environment. We are conveniently located on the first floor. We provide comprehensive care for adults and children and we welcome new patients. We also take walk-in patients on a daily basis.”
Olasunkanmi Adeyinka, M.D., clinic director of UT Family Medicine, said the new space was designed specifically to increase organization and function, further enhancing the quality care that has been provided by clinical faculty in the Department of Family and Community Medicine for more than two decades.
“Computers in each state-of-the-art exam room and electronic medical records have greatly improved the efficiency of the doctors,” she said. “For example, if, during the course of the examination, the doctor needs to review a previous X-ray or mammogram, rather than leave the room to retrieve the image, it can be pulled up on the computer. This allows the doctor to spend more time with each patient, providing the most comprehensive, personalized care.”
Eight physicians see patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors, at the clinic. Representing the best in their fields, UT Family Medicine physicians have extensive cross-training in a variety of specialties --including sports medicine, medical weight loss, internal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology -- enabling them to serve the health care needs of the entire family. The UT Family Medicine physicians include Adeykina, Moreno, Michael Altman, M.D., Grant Fowler, M.D., Deepa Vasudevan, M.D., Donna Landen, M.D., Rolf Montalvo, M.D., and Bal Reddy, M.D.
