Half Price Books’ Generosity
Allows UT Health Science Center at Houston
to Distribute Books to Children Impacted by Hurricane Ike
| WHAT: | Because of Hurricane Ike, many children in the Galveston area have lost all of their belongings and even their homes. In an effort to bring some joy back into their lives, Half Price Books is donating thousands of books worth $65,000 to the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. CLI will distribute the books to its Reach Out and Read-Texas program sites on the island. |
