Commuter Options

Useful links:

Are high gas prices stressing you and your wallet? Use this interactive tool to help you estimate about how much you are spending monthly and annually. Discover that you’re spending too much? Well, here are several other transportation options to help you save money and decrease your stress.

Carpool

  • NuRide: Improve Your Commute
Avoid the sting of high gas prices by carpooling with other people going your way. NuRide is an online ridesharing community where you can earn rewards for sharing rides. With NuRide you can ride with friends and neighbors whenever you like, and every ridesharing trip earns points that can be redeemed for gift cards, discounts, tickets to shows and attractions, and other rewards. To see the rides and rewards available in your area, visit www.nuride.com
  • Metro Commuter Database Metro maintains a database of individuals who work in the region and  have expressed a desire to commute to work via carpool or vanpool. This commuter database uses a person’s home address, work address and work hours to find others who live and work near them and have similar schedules. To find carpools and vanpools available in your area, visit http://ridepro.ridemetro.org/ridepro/service.asp

Vanpool

Find an available UT vanpool serving your area.  For a comprehensive list of available greater Houston area vanpools, search METRO's Vanpool finder.
