Editor's Note: Today, The Leader Update continues an occasional series of video interviews with current and former faculty, staff and student experts from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and collaborating institutions about their careers in science, math and health. The videos are a highlight of HEADS UP (Health Education And Discovering Science while Unlocking Potential), a curriculum created through grants awarded to the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research at The University of Texas School of Public Health.
The collaborative program originated under Gil Castro, Ph.D., retired administrator and faculty member, and is now under the supervision of Nancy Murray, Dr.P.H., assistant professor of health promotion and behavioral sciences at the School of Public Health.
The curriculum modules are developed through a collaboration involving the Spring Branch Independent School District, the schools of Public Health and Medicine of the UT Health Science Center, The Health Museum, Project GRAD Houston, the University Clinical Research Center, the Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Library and numerous other partners.
