Publishing on UTHSC-H’s Internet
Servers UTHSC-H Web Publishers, Authors and Owners linked to the university’s home pages represent the institution and are responsible for the pages they publish, as well as the links they offer to other resources. Web Publishers should not direct their visitors to non-operative sites, to out-of-date sites, or to sites containing irrelevant or inappropriate content. Web Content Owners, Authors and Publishers are expected to abide by the highest standards of quality and responsibility. Compliance and Complaint Resolution
Process The Web Council established a tiered approach to better coordinate the various standards for Web sites. The closer the public Web page and tier is to the UTHSC-H home page, the stronger the required level of compliance to Federal and State guidelines and to University Web standards. Please refer to the Web page hierarchy section, to determine your site’s tier location. These standards do not apply to Web applications used within Web pages and sites. All public sites and pages published after January 1, 2005 must comply with UTHSC-H's general Web design standards and specific tier standards as provided in this guide. Those pages created before the beginning of the year must comply with the standards when the pages are updated. Pages will be evaluated for compliance at the time they are initially posted, and are subject to random review thereafter. Log file analysis will play a large role in the review process; UTHSC-H pages with high traffic volume will be a priority. Review is a task charged jointly to the Office of Public Affairs and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity. Missing or improper elements will result in contact from one of the above-mentioned individuals. Web publishers will be asked to make corrective measures within an agreed upon time. The pages will be removed and Web server privileges will be forfeited if compliance does not occur. It is the Web
Council's desire that peer direction
and support help drive compliance. If there is a disagreement between
the Web Publisher or Web Owner and the compliance representative, the
Web Council will be available for arbitration. If an individual has
questions about the standards please contact Jennifer Canup. |
