The Hamill Foundation

 

Thomas Brown, grants director and trustee of The Hamill Foundation, far right, recently visited the School of Nursing to get a firsthand look at the Nursing Leadership and Administration program that the foundation sponsors. Part of the Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) degree track, the program is led by Theresa Carroll, Ph.D., R.N., far left. Marian Thomas, R.N., and Julie Segovia, R.N., two students of the program, visited with Mr. Brown and discussed their research projects and explained how the Leadership and Administration Program improved their management skills. Both currently hold supervisory positions at UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dean Patricia Starck, D.S.N., R.N., F.A.A.N., second from right, also visited with the students and Mr. Brown. The Hamill Foundation was established by Claud and Marie Hamill in 1969 and primarily supports Houston–area education, health, medical research and human service organizations.
