Nursing School Ranking

The University of Texas School of Nursing at Houston has moved up to the top 8 percent of graduate nursing schools in the United States, according to the U.S. News and World Report 2007 Best Colleges Report. The school is ranked #29 out of 354 graduate nursing schools.

Patricia Starck, D.S.N., dean of the School of Nursing, called the report “fantastic news.” The school had previously been ranked in the top 10 percent.

Dental Hygiene Students Ace Exam

All 36 students in the School of Dental Hygiene at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston passed the 2006 National Board Examination. The class scored well above the national average, while 11 of the students scored in the 90s. “Because the students are very bright and worked hard, these results came as no surprise to the faculty. We are all very proud of them,” said Nina Bay Infante, director of the Dental Hygiene Program.

Dental Students Score Well

The 2006 graduating D.D.S. class at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston achieved a 97 percent passing rate on the National Board Dental Examinations, Part II. The seniors scored above the national average in Oral Pathology/Radiology, Oral Surgery and Pharmacology.
