“Legal Issues in Academe” were the topic at an April 24 networking event sponsored by the Academic and Administrative Leadership Development Program (AALDP). L. Maximilian Buja, M.D., AALDP director and executive vice president at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, left, greets the guest speaker, D. Parker Young, Ed.D., professor emeritus of higher education at the University of Georgia. Young is a past president of the National Organization on Legal Problems in Education. AALDP participants are senior faculty and administrators who aspire to become better leaders in their field. The classes and workshops focus on developing leadership and management skills through interaction with outside experts and internal key leaders of the UT Health Science Center, UT System, chief executive officers of area hospital systems and presidents of other UT institutions.
