Mary Anne Mashruwala, a student at The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Houston, crosses the finish line April 1 at the 28th Annual Eeyore’s 5K Run. She earned sixth place in the female 20-29 age group. With 200 runners and additional donations, the event raised $5,000 for the Texas Exes Houston Chapter Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for students at the UT Health Science Center at Houston and Houston-area high school students who will attend UT System schools in the fall. The run builds on a tradition that began at UT Austin as a birthday party in honor of Eeyore, the Great Grey Donkey in A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh stories.
