Leadership in Action Award

Robert Emery, Dr.P.H., received the first Michael J. Jimenez Leadership in Action Award at the Feb. 8 STAR Awards luncheon for The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He and his wife, Maureen, right, visit with Patty Jimenez, widow of the late Mike Jimenez, former vice president and chief human resources officer, who died in June. The new award will recognize one outstanding employee each year for demonstrating the leadership traits that were so admired in Jimenez.

Better known as “Safety Bob,” Emery is assistant vice president for safety, health, environment and risk management, UT Health Science Center, and associate professor of occupational health, UT School of Public Health.
