Swing a Club to Help a Student

 

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s executive vice president for clinical affairs, Richard Andrassy, M.D., chairs the 13th Annual Health Science Center Scholarship Golf Classic. KHOU-TV Channel 11’s news anchor Lisa Foronda is celebrity chair. The golf tournament, benefiting students of the health science center’s six schools, will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 26, at the Timber Creek Golf Club in Friendswood.

Honorary chair is James “Red” Duke, M.D., the John B. Holmes Professor in Clinical Sciences and professor of surgery at the UT Medical School at Houston. Chair Andrassy is holder of the Denton A. Cooley, M.D., Chair in Surgery. Co-chair is David Mercer, M.D., vice chairman and director of the Division of General Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
