Free Reading and Riding for Children

Andrea White, left, wife of Houston Mayor Bill White, enjoys story time with Belle from Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," who read Snow White's story to area children Dec. 1 at Ripley House. The group gathered to kick off Houston's "Ticket to Read" program, a collaboration among Reach Out and Read-Texas - based at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston - the Metropolitan Transit Authority and Houston Public Library. Houston-area families seeing physicians at designated Reach Out and Read clinics will receive a "Ticket to Read" brochure containing a round-trip METRO pass to visit the library.
