Michelle Morris, Ed.D., began in August 2008 as assistant vice president for public affairs. She oversees Communication, Marketing, Media Relations, Special Events and Creative Services, and Web Communication. She came to UTHSC-H from Abilene Christian University, where she served as vice president for university relations. While at ACU, Michelle served as director of the 13-month Centennial Celebration, helped in the crafting of two university visions, and coordinated branding and marketing efforts that increased ACU’s national rankings and supported the raising of more than $250 million during her tenure there. In addition to her 16 years at ACU, Michelle founded a PR/writing firm in Morristown, Tenn., which served more than 100 clients; was an award-winning reporter; served as the marketing coordinator for an Abilene accounting firm; and was manager of special publications and graphic design at the Abilene Reporter-News. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from ACU and her doctorate in higher education administration from Texas Tech University.
