Paul Darlington, Ph.D., Associate Dean, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, was recipient of the Second Annual Michael J. Jimenez Leadership in Action Award. His $5,000 check was presented by Sherry Wilson, WorkLife Council.

Dr. Paul Darlington warmly recalled his working relationship with the late Mike Jimenez, former vice president and chief human resources officer at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Members of the staff of UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences received, as a group, the first STAR Team Award, envisioned by the WorkLife Council and funded by UT Counseling and WorkLife Services.

Ten-year employee Judy Bettencourt, UT School of Public Health, picks up her years of service gift at check in.

 

Those who have been with the university five years received a specially-designed pin and certificate prior to the luncheon.

 

 

There were 340 in attendance at the 2007 STAR Awards luncheon, held at the Houston Marriott Medical Center Hotel.

Nancy Willerson chatted with 20year of service employees Kimberly Eaton and Jim Hyland, both with the medical school.

Sandra Fisbeck, 35 years, UT School of Public Health, and Deanna Grimes, 30 years, UT School of Nursing received special gifts for their many years of service.

This specially made banner celebrated the university’s 35 year anniversary at the STAR Awards luncheon.


Nancy Shipley, Chair, University Classified Staff Council, welcomed the guests to this annual celebration.

open her special gift.
