Use of CA-125 Algorithm for the Early Detection of Ovarian Cancer in Low Risk Women
Houston, TX
UT Physician
The goal of this clinical research study is to test whether a blood test, called CA-125 may be helpful in the early detection of ovarian cancer in post-menopausal women (women who have not had a menstrual period for one year). The study is a primarily a blood test, and the patient comes back in 1 year, 3 months, or right away depending on their CA-125 values. If there is a need to visualize the ovaries, then the patient will have a transvaginal ultrasound at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. All study related procedures will be done at no cost to the patient.
